Leaders to convene for first time in four years to chart future for Pacific agriculture and forestry

Pacific Agriculture and Forestry Ministers and Heads will meet in person for the first time in four years to boost the region’s agriculture and forest sectors. The regional meeting of the Pacific Heads of Agriculture and Forestry Services and companion joint Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Pacific Community (SPC) Agriculture and Forestry Ministerial meeting is the most important event on the agriculture and forestry calendar.

This year’s gathering theme Growing Together: Transforming Pacific Agriculture and Forestry seeks a new start, a coming together to enhance regional collaboration and cooperation with fresh energy in a face-to-face environment after three years of COVID-19 disruption.

The meetings will be held during the Pacific Week of Agriculture and Forestry, a week-long assembly of agriculture and forestry professionals and events, with proposed themes that include pandemics, climate change and natural resource security, transforming agriculture and security through science and technology and creating circular green economies.
